Here are some more chidori and waves, simpler than the last design. Plovers in the waves represent steadfastness in adversity and perseverance.
I was at first hesitant to label these birds plovers, but I found that there is a type of plover with a crest in Japan, tegari or northern lapwing. The little crest feather may simply be aesthetic as well.
If you’re just getting started, I think this stencil would be a really good beginner stencil. It would make a very good motif for a t shirt, a bag, a placemat, or any number of disconnected designs.
